A new workshop titled "Chemical Sensing: From the Lab to the Field" is set to take place in Hakodate, Japan, from 1 to 4 September 2025, focusing on the latest advances in chemical sensor technology, including electronic noses and their applications in odour management. Featuring a panel of global experts, the event promises in-depth sessions on sensor fundamentals, odour sampling and handling, industrial and medical uses of chemical sensing, as well as emerging olfactory display technologies. The workshop aims to provide both theoretical understanding and practical insights for researchers, industry developers, and students interested in chemical sensing and odour control.

   For professionals and enthusiasts involved in odour management, this event offers a unique opportunity to explore cutting-edge methods and technologies, such as multivariate data processing, robotic applications, and innovative sensor calibration techniques.    The Latin American region is set to take an important step forward in tackling the shared challenge of odor pollution through an online seminar hosted by AIDIS Chile, scheduled for August 14 at 12:00 hrs (Chile time). Titled “Regional Regulations and Initiatives on Odors,” this seminar will bring together public administration experts from Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, and Argentina—reflecting a multinational effort to address odor pollution.

   The upcoming webinar, organized by AIDIS Chile (Inter-American Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering), will serve as a regional platform for the exchange of experiences and regulatory strategies. According to the official program, the event will place special emphasis on the value of technical cooperation among countries facing similar challenges but operating under diverse socio-economic contexts.
