We wish you a merry Christmas and a New Year full of promises that come true

Happyholidays2020 We hope you spend a wonderful time with your family and friends on these special dates. Many things have happened along this year 2019, many conferences and initiatives have been taking place around the world. We would like to thank to those of you, who contributed one way or another to spread the word for a globe with a better odour management.

Along this year we have posted over 100 articles with news about conferences, standards, events, courses and new regulations in different parts of the world. Only in 2019 we got over 49.000 pages viewed and to date, we have over 2000 subscribers in any of our 12 mailing lists. All of this in our free time, because we post in olores.org just for fun. We actually do environmental consultancy for a living.

That being said, at olores.org our primary revenue stream is through the advertisements of the sponsors that you see on our website. We depend upon this revenue in order to maintain our operations and continue serving the “odour” communities with news and updates. One more year we would like to thank to the companies that advertise in this site, as they make possible that this portal exists.

The company that have been always there in the last 9 years supporting our work is The Synergy Group. The Synergy Group (TSG) is the only Chilean company that integrates vertically in the same company all the services for the odour management: conditions assessment, control and neutralization, R&D laboratory, and monitoring/checking. With more than 20 years experience in this area, TSG was our main sponsor at OLORES19 and helped us to organize every single detail of the venue.

With them we organized our V International Conference on odour management. This is the second time we arrange a conference with two teams separated by thousands of kilometres and once again the experience was wonderful. The people at TSG have been generous and effective. Due to some events we did no break even in this conference as we did not reach the budgetary target of 200 attendants. All in all the event was great and it was wonderful to meet up with the colleagues to discuss a bit about odour management.

A month ago, the International Environmental Association of Odour Managers (AMIGO) presented  its first Basic Guideline on Odour Management, a work developed thanks to the collaboration of more than 15 authors and reviewers from five countries. Also we participated in a few conferences on Environmental Odour this year, such as the IWA conference in China or the ACODAL conference in Colombia.

This month of September was quite productive in terms of official standards related to odours published around the world. Also, CEN Technical Committee 264 Working Groups 41 and 2 have been very busy. The revision of the EN 13725 will be definitely published this 2020.

Many other news were published along this year 2019 and this time we had one more addition to our team. Besides Cyntia and myself we count now with Ainhoa to form this fantastic team in olores.org. We hope you enjoyed our work and we wish you a wonderful time in these special festivities.
