Abstract

  In order to evaluate the possibility of faster measures for determination of chemical prints of VOCs and odours through GC-IMS technique, and its potential use as a tool in continuous monitoring, air samples from different locations in a metropolitan wastewater treatment works in the UK were analysed. The results showed different chemical prints of volatiles in each sample and a positive relation with results obtained by olfactometry, which suggests an additional utility for monitoring odour compounds.
