The international odor/odour community makes history in the first worldwide 24h-MOM marathon

The first edition of the 24-hour Odor Management Marathon (24h-MOM) successfully concluded on November 12, 2025, uniting experts from all five continents in an innovative virtual format that rotated sequentially through Oceania, Asia, Europe, South America, and North America.

The event, organiz/sed by the global organiz/sations CASANZ, A&WMA, AMIGO, JAOE, WEF, IEEE, ISOCS, DOS, IWA, KLOPC, AIDIC, and VDI, and the coordination of olores.org addressed more than 10 key topics through presentations and roundtables, fostering the exchange of scientific, regulatory, and technological advances in odor/odour management.

The 24h-MOM program/programme combined conferences, case studies, and debates on monitoring, emerging regulations, and industrial solutions, with more than 50 presentations from over 20 countries across five continents (see the program). In total, more than 500 people registered for this event, including plant operators, researchers, consultants, and environmental agencies from around the world.

Supported by bioair solutions, Olfasense, Jacobs, Black & Veatch, St. Croix Sensory, Hydrens, Porter Odor Science, The Odour Unit, Lab Service Analytica, Xylem, and the media partner akhonmedia, the marathon strengthened international collaboration on air quality, highlighting the need for global criteria harmonization and the rise of innovative technologies.

For those that were unable to follow live, recordings will soon be available on the organizers' YouTube channel: first by continental blocks and progressively each presentation separately to facilitate access to specific content. Subscription and notification activation is recommended to catch every detail.

The event exceeded expectations in geographic diversity and interaction, establishing an annual format that will boost future training and networking in the odor/odour community. The 24h-MOM not only marks the beginning of a global tradition in odor/odour management, but also inspires the community to stay united in the pursuit of cleaner and more effective solutions for our air.

Thank you very much to the organiz/sers, the sponsors, the media partner, the speakers, the moderators, and all the audience — together we will achieve a world with a better odour/odor management!
