   The International Water Association (IWA) Publishing office has released today the first Handbook of Environmental Odour Management. This interesting publication is edited by Franz-Bernd Frechen, Professor at the University of Kassel in Germany, Jean-Michel Guillot, Professor at the École de Mines d’Alès in France, Richard Stuetz, Professor at the University of New South Wales in Australia and Anton P. Van Harreveld, CEO in Barcelona of the multinational company Odournet. All of them are very well known people in this environmental field and they all have decades of experience in odour management.

   Complaints due to odour annoyance have become a major issue for wastewater treatment plant, waste management, landfill, intensive livestock and other industrial operators as the repeated release of unpleasant odorous emissions can constitute a nuisance to a local population. With this book, plant managers, consultants, scientist and environmental regulators have a very interesting source of information to stay updated about the last tools to manage odour releases to the environment.
