   The UNE 77270 standard, already published and available in English, has reached an important milestone. Now, an initiative is being launched to secure funding for the next step: advancing the standard to become a European Standard (EN). The goal is to raise funds to initiate the work, and the AMIGO association is leading the charge in gathering support from individuals and organizations interested in this project.

   The idea is to create a Working Group within the Technical Committee TC264 on Air Quality, a space where experts can collaborate on this important topic. Italy is also working on a national standard on the same issue, creating a unique opportunity for collaboration. This initiative follows the model of Working Group 41 (WG41), which was established following the publication of a similar Dutch standard.

   The 11th VDI Conference, "Odours in the Environment," calls for contributions! The event will take place on November 18-19, 2025, at the Wyndham Grand Salzburg Conference Centre in Salzburg, Austria, and promises to be a key gathering for odour management professionals from the German-speaking world. The call for abstracts is just open, and the paper submission deadline is 14 March 2025. 

  The previous edition in Leipzig, which had approximately 160 participants, was hailed as a resounding success. This year's special theme will focus on "Odour Dispersion Modelling and the Practical Challenges in Real-World Applications." Suppose you are an expert in odour emissions, ambient air measurements, or odour forecasting, and you know a bit of German. In that case, this is your opportunity to share your insights and engage in discussions with other professionals in the field.

   The Jagüel wastewater treatment plant in Punta del Este, Uruguay, conducted an extensive study to address odor issues ahead of its renovation. Corrective actions significantly reduced odors, with no complaints reported during the summer.

   Through field measurements and advanced modeling, improvements such as enhanced ventilation in centrifuge rooms, activated carbon filters, and ClFe3 dosing in sludge were implemented, ensuring the system's effective performance.

   This article presents an approach for continuous duct sampling, designed to feed an IOMS trained with dynamic olfactometry data from the same system. The setup enables sequential sampling of odor inflows and outflows through a reduction device, allowing for efficiency evaluation.

   It addresses challenges such as reducing humidity, implementing hardware/software adjustments to account for temperature fluctuations, and developing algorithms to correlate odor concentrations between sampling and the IOMS. Field-calibrated results are presented from a system installed in a waste treatment plant, analyzing both odor fluctuations during the plant's daily cycle and the efficiency of the odor reduction unit.

   The study aims to explore the use of satellite technology (GHGSat) for measuring methane emissions and its application in quantifying odors in landfills, waste and wastewater treatment plants. 

  This study proposes to identify and monitor methane emission sources, a tracer gas that allows inferring the presence of odors associated with the decomposition of organic matter, through the use of satellite technology (GHGSat) with its high spatial resolution and accuracy, facilitates the identification of critical areas and the evaluation of the efficiency of odor control systems.
