A new meeting of the WEF Air Quality and Odor Control Committee took place in January

AQOC quarterly meeting   The Air Quality and Odor Control (AQOC) Committee of the Water Environmental Federation (WEF) hold a full committee meeting conference call on Wednesday, January 11th from 3:00 to 4:00pm Eastern.

   The Air Quality & Odor Control Committee is a very active team of the WEF that counts on around 80 members these days. The Air Quality & Odor Control Committee develops, recommends, and conducts programs to promote general improvement in reducing odor emissions impacts related to water quality, biosolids handling, treatment and disposal, and wastewater treatment and collection.

   This very active group of the WEF led by Carla Dillon had in January a quarterly meeting to discuss different issues related with environmental odor management. During this  meeting some feedback was provided about the last WEFTEC 2016 conference and about the workshops and technical Sessions hold during this event. The workshops and technical sessions were very successful.

   The next WEFTEC 2017 will be the 90th Annual Technical Exhibition & Conference and will take place in Chicago, Illinois, USA from the 30th of September to the 4th of October 2017. For this event the workshop proposed by the AQOC committee was "the Release of Odors: When doing your job right results in this unintended consequence". This workshop will be chaired by Sharon Miller.

   A Technical Session was also proposed titled: "Odor Benchmarking" and chaired by Carla Dillon.

  Finally, a webcast for WEF members was scheduled for the 21st of June. This webcast will be chaired by Betty Jordan.
