Estimation of stable-run time for Biofilter to mitigate environment pollution due to Styrene emission and other VOCs from Reinforcing Plastics industry

reinforced fiberglass   The Fiber Glass Reinforcing Plastic Industry in Argentina has undergone a huge development. Unfortunately, only a few facilities work with appropriate abatement pollutant emission technology. That is so due to the lack of regulations and control laws in this country.

This work describes a case study of the design of equipment to reduce styrene emissions from a filament winding and chop hoop mixed process from a factory that produces Reinforcing Plastic pipes.

Passive Deodorization in confined areas of Sewage Plants

le .

imagen recaj   Odor control in waste water treatment plants and pumping stations is already a priority in the integration with the neighborhood. Lately the energetic and economic optimization of deodorization has become very important.

This article describes efficient solutions with very low operating costs for specific elements of plants, using small passive compact units, able to operate without fan, and loaded with selected impregnated activated alumina adsorbents. The results and capacity shown make this solution ideal in sludge silos, thickeners, septic tanks, sludge reservoirs and digesters, storm tanks and others, as opposed to the usual deodorization design criteria by a certain number of hourly renewals.

Evaluation of an odour abatement system by means osmogenic barrier

le .

imagen jorgevicente   The objective of this paper is to describe and evaluate the project of odour impact reduction by means the design, erection and start up of a osmogenic barrier through a spray system of specific products, in waste mechanical and biological treatment plant.

These products have hydrophobic groups, which have long hydrocarbons chains. This structure allows the formation of big molecular aggregates named micelles. This micelles prevent than malodorous molecules (osmogenic molecules) can be detected by the human sense and despite they are still present in the air, they don’t smell anymore.
