LabService Analytica S.r.l., through its InterCinD division, has opened registration for IC2026ODOR, an accredited proficiency test (PT) scheme for gas analysis. The scheme is organised in accordance with the standard EN ISO/IEC 17043:2023 and is designed to help laboratories assess their analytical performance under conditions that reflect routine practice.

This edition covers two measurands: n-butanol and tetrahydrothiophene (THT). InterCinD will provide gas cylinders at two concentration levels for n-butanol and one set of cylinders for THT, allowing participants to evaluate both precision and accuracy within a structured interlaboratory comparison.

The timetable is already in place. The registration deadline is 17 July, sample shipment is scheduled for 25 October, laboratory data submission is due by 15 December, and the final report will be issued on 15 February. For laboratories working in odour measurement and gas quality control, the scheme offers a practical way to benchmark performance and strengthen quality assurance.

The PT organizer will deliver two sets composed of 5 bottles at 2 different levels of concentration and 1 set of THT bottles. The minimum number or participants is 12 for n-butanol and 6 for THT. Check the following form for more information and pricing of this PT. Depending on the location of your olfactometric lab, there will be a fee for shipment.

For a number of participants less than 12, the test is not accredited, and the value assigned is considered with the value declared by the manufacturer accompanied by the measurement uncertainty declared in the certificate. The gas will NOT be a certified reference material.
