Sampling in Olfactometry. The German PT is now open to other countries

hlug facilitiesDominik Wildanger of the German institute HLNUG presented, last February at the WG2 meeting in Barcelona, the results of the German proficiency tests on odour sampling. Mr Wildanger showed there how it is done and what the results were of 2015 and 2016. We have already spoken about this very interesting Proficiency Test (PT) that considers the influence of sampling
 
  Proficiency Tests (PT) are organised to check the ability of laboratories to deliver accurate testing results to their customers. Since 2015, the Hessian Agency for the Environment and Geology (HLNUG) organizes regular PT on stack odour sampling exclusively for German labs. The PT of this year will be next months of September and October and for the very first time it is open to labs from other countries. At this stage, at least six odour labs from outside Germany will participate to this PT as well.

3rd Chinese-Austrian Workshop on Environmental Odour, Beijing, China, 19-20 October 2017

II workshop austria china   Following the successful lead of previous workshops, we have this year another edition of the Chinese-Austrian Workshop on Environmental Odour (Odour Emission - Dispersion - Impact Assessment – Abatement). This time, this event will take place at the University of Science and Technology of Beijing, between 19th & 20th October 2017. This interesting workshop is organized under the auspices of the Eurasia-Pacific Uninet.

   Environmental odour is a major concern of residents in the vicinity of odour sources. This workshop will treat the entire chain from the odour source, the dilution in the atmosphere up to the perception of odour by the nose of residents as well as abatement strategies.

Open the call for abstracts for the WEF conference.

wef odors 2018The WEF has just announced the opening of the call for abstracts for the largest odor conference in US. The final date for abstract reception is September, 7, 2017. This conference will once again bring together environmental professionals from around the world for a showcase on odors and air pollutants management.

The Air Quality and Odor Control (AQOC) Committee of the Water Environmental Federation (WEF) is a very active team of the WEF that counts on around 80 members. Every other year they organize the largest conference on environmental odor management and this time they will organize their next event in March 2018 in Portland.
